Carrying on the tradition of the public Beginners Arduino workshops I used to run for TinkerLondon I will be running a course at the centre for creative collaboration in February.

What could be better than spending a weekend learning about Arduino, the favorite open source hardware hacking platform for designers, artists and hobbyists.

Aimed at students, artists, and designers and anyone who wants to learn the basics of Arduino, simple electronics and building interactive projects

I have been running workshops around Arduino and its uses since 2007, and have just finished co-authoring The Arduino Cookbook for o'reilly (published March 2011).

What do you need to bring?

A laptop to prgoram the Arduino board with (can be Mac, Windows or Linux).

A beginners Arduino kit is provided, which you can take away with you after the workshop.

NB: You don't need to already know about electronics to come to this workshop.

10:30: Introduction to the workshop and round table introductions

11:00 - 12:00: Introduction to physical computing, interaction design and the history of Arduino

12.00 - 13.00: Getting Arduino software on your computer, and talking to your board

13:00: Lunch break

13:00-1700 Getting started with Arduino through practical examples

17:30- Drinks at a nearby pub

12.00 A chance to build something of your own, in groups, or self guided study
